Suite Consciouness Am I

Consciousness transcends the mind like the sea surrounds an island. Consciousness is pure and unadulterated. Reflected consciousness adds thought like a mixed drink.

When reflected consciousness sleeps, consciousness witnesses the absence of duality. Consciousness is never lost. Only the mind turns off, like during deep sleep. Consciousness is the seer. Not only does the seer pervade the seen, the seen is consciousness.

Materialism has been disproved by every science yet scientific materialism persists. The hard problem of consciousness for consciousness studies is it just won't go away. For Consciousness is the ground before time and the space beyond space-time. Aum.

Consciousness Never Sleeps

1. Walden Pond in Sunlight

There's mind, memory, and intellect; the intellect is like a lake in which the sun is shining.

Visiting its depths are seekers of inspiration although there's always one who's looking up.

Inspiration is awareness reflecting in an inquiring mind. Revelation comes from the source.

I went to the woods to find God only to find God appearing in my self-shining self.

2. Almost High Tide 2026

I am one who has experienced a rare New England day in June.

As rare as James Russell Lowell, Jack Kerouac, St Jean Baptiste Church, and the holy baptism of my grandmother on my mother's side.

Rare is just a factor of Maya. Universality is the nature of God. Satcitananda is the truth of Brahman.

As the moon doesn't really swallow the sun, Maya doesn't eat existence.

Consciousness witnesses the absence of duality in deep sleep.

Bodies grow numb. The mind turns off. Satcitananda never sleeps.

Everyday Nonduality

Maya is like a movie that comes, changes, and goes, over and over again.

Consciousness is like the silver screen on which it appears but imperceptible and indescribable

(beyond all space-time, absolute ground, called Brahman by the Revelators of the Himalayas).

The concept of Brahman is genius. The fact that Atman (soul, spark of divinity and one's true self) is 

Brahman is mind-blowing. I minus Avidya = That minus Maya. Attention minus thought is consciousness. 

2. Satcitananda is One Word

Existence is the ground of the universe. Consciousness is the space of the mind. Bliss is that holistic infinity of love.

Existence, consciousness, and bliss are not attributes of Brahman but the nondual nature of Atman. That's why satcitananda is one word. 

Revelators look out, in, and through. And see entwined a universe, the mind, and love sweet love. Satcitananda is their substrate.

3. Ode to Sargent Mountain Pond

Between Sargent & Penobscot Mountains in Acadia NP is Sargent Mountain Pond believed to be the very first lake in Maine formed after the last glacial period known as the Ice Age. 

From personal hiking experience, it's like a spot of paradise. I once witnessed Adam and Eve and Abel swimming there in primordial Maya one June afternoon.

People of the Dawnland call this pond The Lake of Clouds. For the veiling of Self is beginning here on its way to cover those pink granite peaks with thick fog from that cold eastern sea.

1. meditate on that

Self-awareness of the godhead is the arc of the universe. You're almost there.

The godhead is timelessly self-aware but space-time is what such self-awareness looks like from the point of view of maya.

Any questions concerning maya are generated within maya and have no absolute answer. Meditate on that, satcitananda.

2. mandukya abc

Nantah-prajnam, na bahis-prajnam, na ubhayatah prajnam, na prajnana ghanamna, na prajnam, na aprajnam (consciousness: not inner, nor outer, nor both, nor measurable, nor immeasurable, nor not) ~Mandukya 7a.

Adrstam, avyavaharyam, agrahyam, alaksanam, acintyam, avyapadesyam (imperceptable (unseen), unrelatable (not emperical), incomprehensible (beyond reach), uninferable (not a sign), unthinkable, indescribable (beyond words)) ~Mandukya 7b. 

Eka-atma-pratyaya-saram (one-self-intuition-essence) ~Mandukya 7c¹.

3. one intuitive i-essence

Ekatma pratyaya saram (one self-intuition-essence) is called the Fourth.

It is the one intuitive I-essence underlying our three states of ignorance (waking, dreaming, deep sleeping)

like a substrate to their superimpositions.

4. ekatma pratyaya saram

Sages say the seventh mantra of the Mandukya Upanishad is the peak of Advaita. In fact, the word, advaita, makes its first appearance there.

If not the creator, Gaudapada is the godfather of Mandukya. Tradition says he’s the guru of the guru of Shankara, Govinda. Disciple of a godlike teacher, Shukadeva son of Vyasa, Gaudapada is Paramaguru of Advaita Vedanta.

Mandukya 7 is divided into three parts. The first nullifies the microcosmic atmans of every state of consciousness (and unconsciousness). The second nullifies all macrocosmic brahmans. The third affirms Mandukya’s mahavakya—ayam atma brahma. Ekatma pratyaya saram.

Satcitananda Forever

1. Can't You See?

Duality can't be proved. Nonduality is beyond proof. Story at eleven eleven.

That which is higher proves something lower. Thus the mind can't prove itself.

Nondual awareness is the highest ground, can't you see? 

The mind is reflected consciousness and reflections are lower states by definition.

2. A Consciousness Hero

Being existence presence consciousness awareness intelligence holistic infinity bliss, oh my.

First you're conditioned by karmic DNA and then they lock you in space-time instead of it all.

Maya is beginningless and the seed of mind. Atman is not a seed of consciousness

nor omniscient consciousness. Brahman is indescribable. Ayam atma brahma is turiyam.

From awareness to self-awareness appears as space-time but in reality is spontaneous.

I know I am takes space and time. From a snake to a rope is a self-reflexive universe.

First principle is existence. People die for it. Ground is consciousness. Materialism be damned.

If a dry sponge is a dead sponge and a wet sponge is a live sponge, consciousness gives existence to the material world and not vice versa.

The intent of an evolutionary universe is not to produce consciousness but reflect consciousness in a more subtle manner.

The subtle body is like a mirror. In reality, there is no mirror. People live and die in Maya while the saints go marching on.

1. New Ode to Satcitananda

Satcitananda are not three attributes of Absolute Brahman but that essence expressed three ways: consciousness, existence, holistic bliss infinity.

These three expressions are the nondual trinity of negative capability — Absolute Brahman is neither non-existent, unaware, nor limited.

Atman neither exists nor doesn't exist, is neither aware nor unaware. Atman is the principle of existence and the ground of consciousness, unlimited.

2. Hymn to Isvara

Absolute Brahman is Brahman without attributes – Nirguna Brahman. Saguna Brahman is Brahman with attributes, God, Isvara and its sword of Maya.

Maya is beginningless. Maya is intelligent. Duality is the mark of Maya. The laws of science are the works of Maya. The puzzles of the universe are the sword play of Maya.

The ignorance of Avidya is Maya mixed with busyness and inertia. Wisdom is Maya mixed with effortless non-doing and intuitive non-knowing. That is the will of Isvara.

3. Sun Song

The source of the sun is a black hole to big science.

The source of the sun god is consciousness-existence in maya.

In reality, the sun is an appearance in and of the self-luminous Self.

That is the source of being, substrate of the world, immutable ground upon which one sits in natural posture, Aparoksanubhuti.

2. Consciousness Transcends Thought

Reflected consciousness is to consciousness as filtered light is to light.

People think reflected consciousness is consciousness but consciousness transcends thought.

Let your thoughts appear in consciousness and disappear like fireflies on the Fourth of July.

I am the light in reflected consciousness.

I am that transcendental consciousness.

I am consciousness-existence, satcitananda!

4. Epilogue like a Lighthouse

To see through thought is like a lighthouse seeing through a fog bank.

This shimmering world is soaked in consciousness.

Consciousness is self-luminous in need of no lighthouse.

1. practical metaphysics

At heart, Advaita is practical metaphysics. And not outlandish new age ritual nor unproven scientific theory.

As the world of thought appears in consciousness and not the other way around, that begins there.

As truth is beauty and beauty is truth, consciousness is existence and existence is consciousness. That is all.

2. caveat emptor

As that consciousness-existence (Brahman) is foundational, Brahman is eternal, immutable, and nondual.

Since the world is full of birth and death, transformation, and multiplicity, the world cannot be Brahman.

Since nondual Brahman is everything, the world is an obvious illusion. Like a dream called Maya.

3. naming names

In Advaita, Brahman is the nondual nameless formless absolute. That Nirguna Brahman is Brahman without attributes.

Saguna Brahman is Brahman with attributes, named Isvara. Maya is the sword of Isvara called duality.

Some worship particlar attributes and give them names. Some worship attributes but do not know it. These get adjectives.

Where the world does not exist, in the beginning, middle, or end,

is that all-pervading space only solitude knows.

In the blink of an eye, Time produces all beings, beginning with Brahma the Creator.

Verily that is also called Timeless, the one who is unbroken bliss and nondual.

1. Talking Aparoksanubhuti

Nirguna Brahman is timeless. Saguna Brahman is time.

Where the space of this universe doesn't exist is that all-pervading spacelessness.

Verily, spacetime is pervaded by that spaceless timeless Parabrahman.

2. Gods of Maya

In misty Maya, Brahman appears to be Brahma. In Advaita, Saguna Brahman is called Isvara. 

Brahma is the first name of Isvara. Vishnu is the middle name. Shiva is the last.

They are Creator, Preserver, and Destroyer. God has ten thousand nicknames. I call mine The Universe.

3. To every Jiva, there's an Isvara

Everybody has a god. Even atheists have their atheism.

Theists have their specific theology. Scientists have their particular scientology.

Advaita has Isvara. Accept your world as it is before transcending it.

4. God is that which floats your boat

The whole is more than a sum of the parts. The sea is more than a number of islands, Matsushima.

Brahman is the grand in Grand Canyon, Nachiketa.

New Mexico is neither Santa Fe nor Sky City; Los Alamos is still off-limits. Atman is neither mustard seed nor god, Thor Heyerdahl.
