Viveka Atman

There is a self-existent self-luminous reality called Brahman. Atman is Brahman, the Fourth, witness to both dream states and deep sleep.

Atman sees everything in its light but no one sees it. It gives its light to the body, mind, and intellect. Nothing gives it that light.

Atman pervades the universe. No mind may penetrate it. Only Atman shines. All the suns in this universe are merely its reflection. As the moon is a reflection of the sun.

In this body, in the secret cave of the intellect, in that space known as the undifferentiated, Atman shines like a sun illuminating the universe with its self-luminous self-existence.
